FAQ

  • Do you provide neurodiversity-affirming support?

    Yes!

As a neurodivergent individual myself, I understand the unique difficulties and strengths that come with being autistic. I focus on the social model of disability, recognising that difficulties faced by autistic individuals are often rooted in societal or environmental barriers. My approach is tailored to align with each persons' strengths and preferences. Therapy does not aim to reduce or treat autistic traits.

  • Do I need a Mental Health Care Plan to see you?

No, I don't work under the Medicare model at this time. I bill privately or through NDIS if you're self-managed or plan-managed.

  • What ages do you work with?

I primarily work with autistic adults and teenagers (usually ages 12+).

  • Can you help me with my mental health if you are not a psychologist?

    Yes!

Doctors often recommend speaking to a psychologist, but many other professionals, like mental health occupational therapists, and mental health nurses or social workers, can provide valuable support.

Success in therapy often depends on having a good relationship with your therapist. My goal is to create a safe and respectful space for us to work together effectively.

If I believe another mental health professional might be a better fit for you, I’ll help point you in that direction.

I’m also happy to collaborate with other health professionals on your team.

  • What's your cancellation policy?

I understand that cancellations can occur for various reasons, and I approach these situations without judgment. However, to ensure the sustainability of my practice, I do have a cancellation policy in place.

Please note that I require at least 2 business days' notice for all cancellations. If this notice is not provided, the full fee for the session will apply.

  • Is telehealth right for me?

While telehealth can offer flexibility and convenience, it may not be suitable for everyone. I strive to create a comfortable and supportive environment, however it's important to ensure that telehealth aligns with your preferences and needs for the best possible outcomes.
