Karenza is an experienced senior mental health occupational therapist with over 10 years of clinical experience. Karenza graduated from Curtin University in 2011. She embraces the unique individuality of every person, celebrates diversity, and supports exploration of identity. Her approach is neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed, strengths-focused, collaborative, holistic and evidence-based. Karenza meets all clients with an empathetic and nurturing attitude. She acknowledges the complexities of life for individuals and families.
Karenza has provided mental health occupational therapy services in homes, private clinics, government and private hospitals across Perth, WA. Karenza tutored at Curtin University for several years and was a guest lecturer in occupational rights and justice. She has delivered training on autism and neurodiversity to schools, universities, and therapy teams. She loves learning and is always furthering her knowledge.
Karenza has extensive expertise in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), trauma-focused ACT, Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), mindfulness, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), having completed multiple trainings in these areas. Therapy is always tailored to individual needs. She has also completed additional professional learning in low-demand parenting, pathological demand avoidance (PDA), the Collaborative and Proactive Solutions (CPS) model, sleep, and neurodiversity-affirming approaches.
Karenza maintains current AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) registration and Occupational Therapy Australia membership.
